Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson is celebrating his 31st birthday on November 11, 2025. The Trivandrum-born cricketer, who has been a key member of the Indian squad off late, especially in the shortest
format of the game. However, he has been in news amidst the IPL 2026 trade window, he also also been around a lot of talks when it comes to batting at any given position.
The keeper-batter has so far featured in 51 T20Is for India, having amassed 995 runs at an average of 25.51 and a strike rate of 147.40. While he boasts of his highest score of 11, he has so far hit three centuries and as many half-centuries across 43 innings. While he continues to be in the mix in the shortest format, in ODIs, he has massed just 510 runs from 16 matches, averaging 56.66.

First Indian to hit back-to-back T20I centuries: After his iconic ton against Bangladesh, Sanju Samson reached the triple figures again against South Africa in Durban on November 8, 2024. He smashed 107 runs off 50 balls, becoming the first-ever Indian batter to hit consecutive centuries in the T20I format. However, Tilak Varma joined him in the list after his consecutive tons against the Protean side thereafter.
Most runs for RR in IPL history: In IPL 2025 during Rajasthan Royals’ final league stage fixture, which came against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Delhi, Sanju Samson etched his name in history books. With his knock of 41 off 31 balls, Samson became the first player to register 4000 runs for RR in IPL history.
