A video is going viral on social media in which Abhishek Nayar was seen outside Mumbai’s Shivaji Park where a large number of people accumulated to catch a glimpse of Team India veteran opener Rohit Sharma. Prior to the Australia ODI series, Rohit went to Mumbai's iconic ground to practice and he was accompanied by his old friend Nayar. Knowing Rohit’s presence at the ground, a large number of people gathered which created a tumultuous situation for Rohit and his security team. Rohit wanted to leave the venue through the exit corridor but it wasn’t easy for him to go past the crowd.
Noting this situation, Nayar emerged and tackled the situation with composure. In a viral clip, Abhishek can be seen asking the crowd to practice restraint while
the 38-year-old India player comes out of the stadium. “Koi dhakka mat dena, hum sab fans hain, lekin usko lagna nahi chahiye.” said Nayar while addressing the fans gathered outside the stadium.
Rohit Sharma to be seen in India jersey again after seven months
As Indiaare scheduled to take on Australia from October 19 in the three-match ODI series, Rohit’s supporters will want him to have a blast with his bat. The 38-year-old won’t be handling the leadership mantle so his responsibility will be to be disciplined as an opener to help India have fine starts.
Rohit’s ODI records against Australia are excellent as the star batter has racked up 2407 runs with eight hundreds and nine fifties in 46 matches against the six-time Cricket World Cup champions. In his last appearance for India in the Champions Trophy 2025, he did a fine job with his bat, scoring 180 runs in five matches at a notable strike rate of 100. He will be expected to continue his form in Australia.
