The Indian cricket team on Sunday, September 28 lifted their record ninth Asia Cup title, beating Pakistan by five wickets in the summit clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. While the Men in Blue entered the tournament as the defending champions, they continued their dominance in the format, winning record ninth title.
While the match had its moment, like the previous two outings against Pakistan, the final was also marred with several controversies. It is to be noted that all the talks around the India versus Pakistan matches in the Asia Cup 2025 were somewhere related to the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attacks, which left 26 innocents dead.
Suryakumar Yadav donates Asia Cup 2025 match fees to Indian Army
In the wake of the act, while the Men in Blue have only spoken limited, on Sunday,
they were seen bringing their best. Speaking at the post-match press conference, Suryakumar Yadav opted to donate his match fees from all Asia Cup 2025 games to the Indian Armed Forces. "It’s like a gesture from my side. I personally want to give all my match fees of all these games in this tournament to the Indian army,” he said.

He later took to X to once again emphasis on his stance, writing, “I have decided to donate my match fees from this tournament to support our Armed Forces and the families of the victims who suffered from the Pahalgam terror attack. You always remain in my thoughts ���� Jai Hind ���� ”
Notably, Suryakumar Yadav’s decision comes after his stance on the India versus Pakistan matches. After India’s seven-wicket win over Pakistan in the group stage clash of Asia Cup 2025, the Indian skipper dedicated the victory to the armed forces and families of the victims of Pahalgam terror attacks.
