Jus hours ahead of the clash, India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate addressed the media, where he spoke at length of team’s campaign. That’s not our concern: Ryan ten Doeschate on Haris Rauf’s controversial gestures
While the match was marred with several controversies, but what became the talking point was Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf’s controversial 6-0 and plane crash gestures. The moment came when the pacer was patrolling near the boundary and after multiple ‘Kohli, Kohli’ chants, he brought in the 6-0 and airplane crash gestures - bringing back Pakistan’s false claim of downing six Indian fighter jets after Operation Sindoor.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference, Doeschate said, “Yeah, let me first say, the amount of pressure that’s been heaped on the players because of the situation. It’s very difficult to control your behavior. I did see some of the things Haris did and that’s not our concern.”
The former cricketer further continued, “Like I said earlier, we’re really proud of how the guys have carried themselves, they’ve fought fire with their bats in the field. Other teams, I’m sure they have issues with some of the things we’ve done. But from our side, we’re delighted with how our guys have carried themselves in the tournament.”
