The New York Jets on Sunday, September 14 saw them go down 10-30 against Buffalo Bills at the MetLife Stadium. While the game had its moment, but ahead of the fixture, the New York Jets paid tribute to Charlie Kirk, a right wing activist and ally of US President Donald Trump, who was shot dead on Wednesday.
Only days later the tragic passing of the politcal activist, the New York Jets extended their tribute as Kirk’s image and video clips featuring him were featured on the big screen prior to the game. The videos also showed Kirk with his wife Erika and their two children before the kickoff.

It is to be noted that the 31-year-old activist was shot dead while attending an event at a college in Utah on September 10. Known as one of the most recognised
conservative figures in the country, he co-founded Turning Point USA at an early age of 18. He led charge for Donald Trump supporter’s in 2016 Presidential elections and backed the US President to become a Republican nominee.
Whil eh now only remains in the memory of many, several NFL teams also extended their tribute to the late hero. On Thursday, just two days later, Green Bay Packers held a moment of silence to honour the conservative. Dallas Cowboys also honoured Kirk before their game against New York Giants at AT&T Stadium.
