Amidst the ongoing Australia A tour of India, the visitors camp was handed a massive setback as their side suffered a health scare. Currently playing India A in three-match ODI series, as many as four
players from the Australia A camp were diagnosed with a stomach infection. The news broke out on the eve of the third and final unofficial ODI, which is set to be played on October 5 at the Green Park in Kanpur.
Their captain was also among the four players, but fast bowler Henry Thornton was the most affected. If sources are to be believed, Henry’s condition worsened as was admitted to Regency Hospital. However, the other three players were treated and discharged following routine medical tests.

However, nothing has been confirmed , but the team sources claim that it might have occurred after consuming food at the hotel. Although, all four players are back at the hotel, Thornton’s exhibited severe infection and was kept under observation. While the sudden outbreak of infection did disrupt their training sessions, but team sources have informed that they are closely monitoring the situation.
Speaking on the matter, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla said, "The hotel in question is among the best in Kanpur. If the food was the cause, then all players would have been affected. It's something that still needs to be looked into carefully." Moreover, samples of the food were also sent for examination, but reported no contamination or irregularities.
