In a big development from English football, head coach Thomas Tuchel has recalled Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden to the national team for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Serbia and Albania. The
52-year-old had left out Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham from the England squad for the October games while Phil Foden returned to action at Manchester City recently after recovering from a shoulder injury.
It is important to note that Foden, 22, last played for the national team in March against Latvia during the second round of the World Cup Qualifiers in Group K at Wembley Stadium in London, which England won 3-0. Before his unfortunate injury, the young midfielder wasn’t picked in the last two national squads for the matches in June and September but now, he will be eager to make a big mark with the World Cup right around the corner.
England qualified for FIFA World Cup 2026 with six wins in a row in Qualifiers
England confirmed their spot in the FIFA World Cup 2026 after registering their sixth straight win in the qualifiers, beating Latvia 5-0 away from home at the Daugava Stadium in Riga. The next two World Cup Qualifier matches will be the final competitive contests for the English football team ahead of the World Cup next summer in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
They will be playing Serbia on Thursday, November 13, at the Wembley Stadium before travelling to take on Albania at the National Arena in Tirana on Sunday, November 16.
