In match number six of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, co-hosts India Women are currently locking horns with Pakistan Women at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on October 5. While the Women in Blue are coming off a 59-run win over Sri Lanka Women via DLS method, their arch-rivals were handed a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of Bangladesh Women.
For the unversed, Pakistan Women skipper Fatima Sana won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision from the captain came seeing moisture on the wicket in Colombo. “We’re going to bowl first. Looks like there could be some moisture on the wicket,” she said.

After winning the toss and addressing the team changes, the two skippers were seen avoiding handshakes. This came in continuation
of the ongoing handshake row which has been going on since the Asia Cup 2025, where Suryakumar yadav snubbed handshake with his Pakistan counterpart Salman Ali Agha. While the instance was repeated in the Super Four as well as the final of the Asia Cup.
