America’s Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford defeated Mexico’s Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez at Saturday night’s highly-anticipated bouts at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to become the Super Middleweight world champion. ‘Bud’ as he often reckoned as, came into the fight moving two weight classes and beat his rival in 12 rounds to lift the undisputed title.
With a win, Crawford became the only fighter in boxing history to win an undisputed title in three divisions via unanimous decision. The Omaha outboxed his opponent across the 12 rounds, winning 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113 as per the judges verdict to become the new WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF super middleweight champions.
