Indian Women’s Cricket team is currently taking on Pakistan Women in the ongoing match number six of the Women’s Cricket World Cup at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In an important match,India Women are
batting first after Pakistani skipper Fatima Sana won the toss and elected to bowl. However, there was a big blunder done at the toss by the toss referee which is now making headlines.
During the toss, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur flipped the coin and Fatima Sana got a chance to make a call. The Pakistani skipper can be clearly seen calling ‘tails’ in the toss video. However, the match referee said, ‘heads is the call.’ Eventually, it was heads and Fatima ended up winning the toss despite making a wrong call at the start. After winning the toss, Fatima opted to bowl first.
India Women in trouble while batting against Pakistan Women
Talking about the match, it hasn’t been a pleasant outing for India Women with the bat in the ongoing Women’s World Cup clash against Pakistan Women. Batting first, the Women in Blue were looking to have a good start as Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal added 48 runs for the first wicket in nine wickets. Mandhana got out after scoring 23(32) runs hitting four boundaries while Rawal scored 31 runs off 37 balls hitting five fours.
After the partnership was broken, India Women kept losing wickets at regular intervals and are struggling to get a big total. Harleen Deol turned out to be a top scorer for India so far with 46 runs off 65 balls hitting four fours and a six. Apart from that, Jemimah Rodrigues also contributed with 32(37) with five boundaries as India Women are yet to cross 200 runs despite playing more than 40 overs in the innings.
