Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out of Ireland and England tours with quadriceps injury

In what has come as a drastic piece of news and not a positive one either for Team India, rising and talented all rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out for the forthcoming away tours to Ireland and England in what were very key contests for the visiting side from the beating heart of the Indian sub continent. The series’ hold key value for the side contesting overseas in a surge to gather vital ICC points in noted white ball formats and hold great significance with the 2027 edition of the ICC men’s World Cup not too far away.

But having said that, what is the prime reason behind Nitish Kumar Reddy being ruled out all too sudden with the series just around the corner and actually, just a few hours away.

The reason for Nitish Kumar Reddy

having been ruled out of the 2-match T20I series versus Ireland is due to an injury he picked up in his quadriceps.

The contests are about to go undergo live on June 26 and the first game of the series is slated to be held at Belfast.

As a matter of fact, the quadriceps issue had occurred during the recent one dayer against Afghanistan that was held at Lucknow and owing to the injury concern, Nitish couldn’t even play that contest.

However, that is not all. What’s more concerning from both Indian team and the perspective of the all rounder’s concern is the very fact that his exact date of return into the Indian side isn’t quite known. At least at this point of time!

It ought to be noted that Nitish Kumar Reddy was also picked for the one day leg and the T20 international tour to England, which is going to be a great tour hopefully.

“The Indian team will leave in batches for the Ireland series. One batch, featuring Sanju Samson, Axar Patel, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Morne Morkel and T Dilip, left today from Chennai while some players are scheduled to leave tomorrow from Mumbai. If the selectors name a replacement for Reddy, Suryansh Shedge is the front-runner due to his impressive recent outings for India A in Sri Lanka.”

The rising Indian all rounder has played quite a few contests across formats for Team India in the last couple of seasons has a growing resume! It’s a hard time for the earnest cricketer. But let’s hope for a speedy recovery.
