On Tuesday, October 21, the reigning champions Australia Women received a massive setback ahead of their upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 match against England Women, set to be played on Wednesday,
October 22 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. The defending champions, who have already secured a playoffs spot will be without their skipper Alyssa Healy in the upcoming fixture.
Healy, who has been in prime form off late, has sustained a minor calf strain during a training session and as a result, will miss the upcoming match against England. While the aggravation of the injury is not known, but she is being currently monitored by the medical team. Notably, Alyssa Healy is currently the top run-getter in the ongoing tournament, having amassed 294 runs in four innings at an average of 98.00.

The statement from Cricket Australia read, “The 35-year-old will miss at least the game against England at Indore’s Holkar Stadium, and will continue to be assessed ahead of Australia;s final round game against South Africa three days later on Saturday. Tahila McGrath will captain the side in her absence.”
Speaking of the Aussie Women, they are one of the two teams who are unbeaten so far in the tournament. Having played five games and winning four of them with one match ending in a no result, Australia Women are placed second in the points table with nine points to their name.
