Former India spinner Harbhjan Singh is happy with Mithun Manhas appointment as BCCI President. Mithun will replace World Cup 1983 champion Roger Binny, who has been in the top post since 2022. Mithun,
during his career, never got the opportunity to play for India in international cricket. In domestic cricket, he served Delhi from 1997 to 2017 and during this period, he appeared in more than 378 matches. Mithun will be expected to do his job efficiently as the post has been held by legends such Binny, Sourav Ganguly and Sunil Gavaskar in the past.
Harbhajan, who played domestic cricket with Mithun, hopes that the Jammu-born former cricketer will fill the gaps in the Indian cricketing system and help the talented players to serve Indiain the international level. “I hope that the things he did not get as a cricketer, in terms of facilities, I hope that what he learned from his life, he will do such a good job for the coming generation, so that no child of that generation, of any class, of any are should be left behind due to infrastructure,” remarked Harbhajan while speaking to the media.
