The Indian Women’s team created history on Sunday, November 2 as they defeated South Africa Women by 52 runs in the final in Navi Mumbai to clinch their first-ever Women’s ODI World Cup title. After years
of heartbreak and finishing as the runners-up twice, India Women finally got their hands on an ICC title in front of their home crowd. On this special occasion, the members of the Indian team unveiled a new team song that was kept secret for a long time.
This was also a memorable moment for Head Coach Amol Muzumdar under whose guidance India Women’s team finally ended their ICC trophy drought in front of their home crowd. Now, a couple of days after the historic win, another video is going viral from the night of the final where Muzumdar can be seen planting the Indian flag on the ground after India’s World Cup win. This moment reminded fans of former captain Rohit Sharma who did the same gesture after India’s T20 World Cup win in Barbados in 2024.

Amol Muzumdar receives grand welcome in Mumbai after World Cup win
The celebrations continued for the Indian team and Head Coach a few days after the historic win in the final of the Women’s World Cup. After guiding the Women’s team to their first evert ICC title, Amol Muzumdar received a grand welcome at his home in Mumbai with his family members and neighbours didn’t leave any chance in giving him a memorable return.
“Absolutely proud. There's no doubt about it. I don't know, it's not yet sink in, but it's an unbelievable achievement by all the girls. I mean, they deserve every credit. They deserve everything that will follow from here because they've worked terribly hard. I know for a fact that they've done extremely, every Indian proud," Muzumdar said on the night of the final after India’s win.
