AS Monaco have sacked their manager Adi Hutter following a string of poor results in early stages of the 2025-26 campaign, thanking him and his staff for their “work and commitment” to the club over the last couple of years or so. With just one win in their last five matches in all competitions this season, the club hierarchy decided to part ways with the 55-year-old, who had helped them finish in the top three in Ligue 1 in the last two editions.
Notably, Adi Hutter joined AS Monaco in the summer of 2023 after managing Borussia Monchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany with reasonable success previously. In the 2023-24 season, the club finished in second place in Ligue 1 standings behind Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) while they ended up
in third place in the competition in the subsequent season.
AS Monaco wished Adi Hutter the best for his future endeavours
While Adi Hutter took AS Monaco to the play-off round of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) last season, where they lost to Benfica, their start to the current campaign wasn’t up to the mark, losing 4-1 to Club Brugge away before holding Manchester City 2-2 at home. In the Ligue 1, the club is currently in fifth place in the standings with four wins, two losses, and a draw, and their recent result was a 2-2 home draw in the derby against Nice.
In their official statement about Adi Hutter’s departure from the club, AS Monaco wrote, “The club would like to thank Adi and his staff for their work and commitment to AS Monaco, and wish them the best for the future.” The next match for the Ligue 1 side is set to happen against Angers away from home on Saturday, October 18 before they host Tottenham Hotspur in the UCL clash on October 22.
