Star Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues has joined the Brisbane Heat squad for the Women’s Big Bash League (BBL) 2025 a few days after the historic Women’s World Cup win with Indian team at home. She was
a part of the playing XI in the opening match against Melbourne Renegades at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on November 9. While giving an interview to 7Cricket during the match, Jemimah came up with hilarious statement on her match-winning knock against Australia Women in the World Cup semi-final a few days back.
Jemimah Rodrigues played a memorable innings of 127 in the semi-final of the Women’s World Cup against Australia in Navi Mumbai on October 30 as India pulled off a record chase of 339 runs. With this, the Women in Blue entered their third ODI World Cup final and eventually defeated South Africa in the final on November 2 to be crowned as World champions for the first time.

Now, as Jemimah Rodrigues joined Brisbane Heat squad ahead of the first game of WBBL 2025, she gave an hilarious statement about her match-winning knock in World Cup semi-final against Australia during the clash against Melbourne Renegades. “I was not sure if Australia would allow me to cross the border after the semifinals,” Jemimah jokingly said during her conversation with 7Cricket.
Speaking further, Jemimah also said that she received a warm welcome in Australia and she could see the impact of India winning the Women’s World Cup. “But honestly, everyone has been so warm and welcoming, and everyone is so happy in general for the growth of women’s cricket. We know that it’s going to change the game massively, not just in India but all over the world,” she further added.
