Canada have announced their squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 which is set to be held in India and Sri Lanka. Canada qualified for the T20 World Cup by winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Americas
Regional Final against Bermuda in June 2025. Canada won the final by six wickets after chasing down the target of 132 runs within 16 overs. Indian born Dilpreet Bajwa will captain Canada in the upcoming World Cup During the T20 World Cup and they have named a pretty balanced squad for the main event with good balance of experience and youth.
From the bowlers, Shivam Sharma will lead the spin attack and picked up 11 wickets in Qualifiers along with Saad Bin Zafar while Kaleem Sana a left-arm pacer who scalped 10 wickets proved to be quite effective for Canada. They also have some youngsters who will be keen to put up an impact. There is also plenty of fire power in the batting with the likes Nicholas Kirton in their ranks, who can expect good support from fellow southpaw Yuvraj Samra and Navneet Dhaliwal. While Shreyas Movva also provides good middle order batting options with captain Dilpreet Bajwa.
Canada have a tough draw as they are placed in Group D, along with Afghanistan, New Zealand, South Africa and the UAE. Canada will start their campaign on February 9 against South Africa in Ahmedabad, before facing the UAE and New Zealand on February 13 and 17, respectively. It will conclude its group-stage match against Afghanistan on February 19. They will be keen to put up a good show in this tournament.
