Tottenham Hotspur, one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League, have started this season on a positive note under their new manager Thomas Frank, who arrived from Brentford in the summer. The London-based
club has made a lot of reinforcements coming into the new season in all departments. To add to the changes, Daniel Levy, who was the executive chairman for Spurs for almost 25 years has departed from his role.
According to the latest development, as reported by BBC Sport, Tottenham Hotspur received an interest from a US-based consortium regarding the availability of the club for purchase. This consortium is led by a person called Brooklyn Earick, who was a former DJ who used to work in NASA. However, Spurs rejected the informal interest which was sent via mail to the club and the Spurs board which is operated by majority shareholders ENIC group have made it very clear that they have no intention of selling the club.
US Consortium to propose official offer before October 24 deadline: Reports
This is the third interest which Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly received regarding the purchase of the club however they currently have no interest in another party taking over. The statement by the new non-executive Chairperson Peter Charrington said, "The board of the club and ENIC reconfirm that Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale and ENIC is not looking to sell its stake in the club."
Earick posted a photo of the Spurs dressing room with a countdown timer which leads to October 24, the deadline for the US-based consortium to send in a firm offer or move away. It will be interesting to see if the board of Spurs were to change their minds if a tempting offer was to come in.
