The Asia Cup 2025 have been over long now, but the controversies which unfolded continue to irrespective of India playing Pakistan any sooner. While handshake row stole the limelight, overshadowing the performances
in the tournament, recently the Australian cricket team players were seen mocking at this gesture.
With the team from Down Under set to take on India in a white-ball series, comprising of three ODIs and five-match T20I series, the Aussie players from both men’s and women’s team were seen mocking at Indian cricket team’s handshake snub row, bringing in fresh controversy.

Ahead of the white-ball series, in a video shared by Kayo Sports on social media handles, the anchor said, “We all know India is on its way. But we’ve identified one critical weakness. We know that they're not huge fans of the traditional greeting (handshake), so we can throw them off before we've even bowled a ball.” What followed was reactions from both men’s and women’s Aussie cricketers.

Australia's white-ball captain, Mitchell Marsh made an appearance, and took a leaf out of Travis Head's playbook as he enacted the "finger in the ice cup." Australia spinner Sophie Molineux mocked the Indian team as she first raised her hand and then raised her two middle fingers. Pacer Josh Hazlewood remained cheeky throughout, saying, “What about the shooter?” The clip concluded with Marsh, Hazlewood, Grace Harris and the anchors breaking out into laughter.
