In theAsia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan in Dubai, the latter side made a lot of errors despite holding a momentum at several stages of the game. Noting the Green Army’s blunders, their former cricketers are criticising them for their mistakes. Pakistan’s former pacer Mohammad Amir also berated his team for their disastrous batting performance in the match. He came heavily on Pakistan batters for failing to capitalise the fierce start delivered by openers Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman. While discussing Pakistan’s defeat, Amir also looked emotional as he fell short of words while starting the video.
Amir also questionedPakistan’s batting approach as the pacer said that going after bowlers from the first delivery led to collapse
of the batting unit. “This is unbelievable. We really missed a huge opportunity; we could have won this match. In T20s, the first ten overs yield runs, but the last ten overs are tricky. The ball gets softer, and it’s harder for new batsmen to make an impact. Only a set batsman can change the game at that stage,” remarked Amir, as per Zee News.

Mohammad Amir hailed Tilak Varma's innings in Asia Cup 2025 final
Mohammad Amir also appreciated Tilak Varma for his stupendous batting effort in the high-octance match. “Look at Tilak Verma - his composure is incredible. Our players still have a lot to learn about when to play what shot. Tilak played smart cricket, built partnerships, and took singles when required. That’s how you win matches,” added Amir.
Varma's 69-run knock led Pakistan to their seventh consecutive defeat against India across limited-over format games held since September 2022. This year, Pakistan registered four losses against their arch-rivals. Before the three Asia Cup 2025 defeats, the Men in Green also lost against India in the Champions Trophy 2025 contest held in Dubai.
