A bowler died of a heart attack after guiding his team to victory in a cricket match, played in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad. As per reports, the man’s name was Ahmed Khan, who won the game for his team on the last ball. Following his match-winning spell, Ahmed and his teammates started exulting in joy. However, during the celebration, Ahmed collapsed on the floor and his teammates were seen giving him CPR but the condition of the bowler kept relapsing. Eventually, when he was taken to hospital, Ahmed was declared dead.
As per reports, a match was played between Moradabad and Sambhal. The game was organised by the UP Veterans Cricket Association in the Bilari block. In this match, when Sambhal needed 14 runs off the last 4 balls, Ahmed Khan bowled
courageously and guided his team to win. The left-arm fast bowler splurged only 11 runs in the over and guided Moradabad to victory.
Ahmed Khan’s last moments on the pitch
Ahmed Khan spent the final moments of his life on the pitch. He faltered in the playing arena and noting his condition, his teammates looked shocked. As discussed above, Ahmed was given CPR but to no avail. As per reports, local Samajwadi Party MLA, Haji Mohammad Fahim Irfan, was spectating the match as a guest.
Ahmed resided in Ekta Vihar, Moradabad. Upon hearing tragic news of Ahmed’s death, his family is now in immense grief and pain. Ahmed is survived by his wife, two kids, a brother, and a sister. His demise has shrouded his locality with sorrow.
