On Friday India sealed the second T20I match in Raipur against New Zealand by seven wickets. They chased down a target of 209 and it was the Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav show. But the moment of the day came when Shivam Dube smashed a 100 meter six to Ish Sodhi during the 12th over in the chase. The left-hander just pumped the ball over long on for a massive six which left the commentators, players and fans in awe. Watch the video here.
Shivam Dube has been doing well in the shorter format for India. He picked up two wickets in the first T20I and today he smashed an unbeaten 36 with the bat. Even former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin praised Shivam Dube and suggested CSK can use him more with the ball. One thing which has always been special
is his ability to hit the spinners and it was on show today. Dube during his 36 run knock today smashed three sixes and a four. He walked in after the dismissal of Ishan Kishan and supported the Indian captain very well. Fans took it to twitter to praise the power hitting of the left hander. With the ball, Shivam Dube bowled one over and picked up a wicket today while conceding only seven runs. Earlier in the game, India opted to bowl first and New Zealand scored 18 runs of the first over to Arshdeep and raced away to 43 in three overs. Harshit Rana bowled a wicket maiden in his first over and provided the wicket. Seifert soon fell to Varun Chakaravarthy as they lost the openers. Rachin Ravindra and Phillips played quickly but a mini collapse meant India clawed back in the game. Chapman could not get going Mitch Santner provided them with a great finish as New Zealand scored 209 batting first.
At one point they looked like they will score more than 230 but they had a poor finish. In reply, India chased down the target within 16 overs despite being 6/2.Ishan Kishan was the player of the match and it was a day to forget for all the New Zealand bowlers. Zak Foulkes in particular had a nightmare as he gave away 67 runs in his three overs without picking up a wicket.
