In the ongoingAsia Cup 2025 Super 4 match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, when the former side was put to bat first after losing the toss, they were expected to play confidently. However, that didn’t
happen as the Men in Green recorded their lowest powerplay total in the tournament. In the initial six overs of the innings, teams expect their top-order batters to plunder runs from bowlers and deliver an amazing start to the side. In the do-or-die game against the Bangla team, Pakistan supporters were expecting their team to do the same but the Green Army lost Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub early and following their departure, veteran Fakhar Zaman and captain Salman Ali Agha could accumulated only 27 runs in six overs.
Noting Pakistan’s underwhelming performance in the contest so far, netizen aren’t showing mercy on them. An X user named Abdul Jabbar wrote, “One of best powerplay scores by team in Asia cup 2025. PAKISTAN AGAINST MIGHTY BANGLADESH. 27 runs. #AsiaCup2025#PAKvBAN”.
Below are some of the fan reactions on Pakistan's innings against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2025 on X:
Bangladesh’s extraordinary bowling in the first innings
In the first innings of the match, Bangladesh bowlers have done a stellar job. In the opening over, veteran pacer Taskin Ahmed got rid of Sahibzada Farhan, who could score only four runs. In the next over, Saim Ayub became the victim of spinner Mahedi Hasan. Following the poor batting in the powerplay, leg-spinner Rishad Hossain stepped up and dismissed Zaman, who amassed only 13 off 20.
Salman Ali Agha looked timid under pressure and fell against Mustafizur Rahman after chipping in with only 19 off 23. After 16 overs of the game, Pakistan are 94/6 with Mohammad Haris (28* off 19) and Mohammad Nawaz (7* off 7) at the crease.
