With the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 getting intense with each passing day, in match number six, the co-hosts India Women are taking on arch-rivals Pakistan Women at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo
on October 5. While the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side are coming into the game after kickstarting their campaign with a 59-run win over Sri Lanka Women, their arch-rivals were handed a seven-wicket drubbing at the hands of Bangladesh Women.
Despite coming off contrasting results, the Women in Blue will aim to continue their winning run, moreover hoping to maintain their unbeaten streak over Pakistan Women, the latter will be hoping to overturn their past results. As the two skippers took the field for toss, Fatima Sana, Pakistan Women skipper won the toss and elected to field first.
“We are going to bowl first. Looks like there could be some moisture on the wicket,” she said while confirming a change in their XI which will see Sadaf Shamas replace Omaima Sohail. On the other hand, India Women also confirmed a change in their XI from the previous match.

Speaking at the toss, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur confirmed a change in the side as they look to extend their unbeaten run against Pakistan. “We played a good series here before the WC. We're thinking positively and are looking to do well,” she began before adding, “One unfortunate change - Amanjot isn't playing (she's ill), Renuka Thakur replaces her.”
