Mohammed Shami’s ex-wife Hasin Jahan has moved to the Supreme Court demanding INR 10 Lakh per month from the star Indian pacer. Hasin took this decision to challenge the Calcutta High Court’s order to Shami to pay
interim maintenance of INR 4 Lakh per month to his ex-wife. After that, the Supreme Court issued a legal notice to Shami to pay an interim maintenance of INR 10 Lakh to Hasin Jahan.
As per the decision by the Calcutta High Court, Mohammed Shami was directed to pay INR 1.5 Lakh per month to his ex-wife and INR 2.5 Lakh per month to her minor daughter till the disposal of the case related to domestic violence against the Indian fast bowler. However, Hasin Jahan has now demanded a monthly maintenance of INR 10 Lakh and went to Supreme Court for the same.
Mohammed Shami was accused of domestic violence in 2018
Mohammed Shami got married to Hasinn Jahan in April 2014 and the couple was blessed with a baby girl in July 2015. This was Hasin's second marriage and she already had two children from the previous marriage. In 2018, Hasin accused Shami of domestic violence, after which the FIR was registered against him. Now, in her latest Plea to the Supreme Court, Hasin alleged that Shami is refusing his legal duty t.o maintain her and her daughter.
"The Petitioner herein is a victim of grave mental and physical cruelty, at the behest of the Respondent No. 2, who is an A-listed national cricketer and a high-net worth Individual, estimated to over 500 Crores. There exists a stark financial disparity between the parties, wherein the Respondent No. 2 despite having all the means to provide a reasonable lifestyle to the Petitioner and his daughter, is deliberately and tactfully failing to do the same, insofar as to avoid his lawful liability of maintaining the Petitioner and minor daughter," the Plea by the Supreme Court stated
