As the two skippers took the field, veteran batter Sophie Devine won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision from the White Ferns skipper came seeing the wicket as she confirmed an unchanged XI. “We gonna bat first, looks like a great wicket today. Same team for us. We played well in patches and with the ball we have been good in phases, hopefully we can put those pieces together today,” she said.

However, the England captain later expressed that even they were looking to bat first, but welcomed the decision of being put to bowl. Moreover, Nat Sciver-Brunt also confirmed a change in their side as they hope to end their league stage with a win. “We wanted to bat as well, looks a dry wicket. We got one change. Emma Lamb is out and Danni comes in for her,” the England all-rounder said.
