New Zealand Cricket (NZC) on Sunday, November 2 announced their 14-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against West Indies, starting from November 5. Notably the Black Caps are scheduled to host
West Indies in amulti-format series, consisting of five T20Is, three ODIs and three Test matches until November 22.
With the five-match T20I series set to commence from Wednesday, November 5, the Black Caps announced their squad which will be led by Mitchell Santner as they prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup, set to be played in India and Sri Lanka in February-March 2026. The squad has seen some notable inclusions, however, they will be without veteran batter Kane Williamson, who announced retirement from the shortest format on November 2.
Kyle Jamieson and Ish Sodhi return for West Indies T20Is
Fast bowler Kyle Jamieson and spinner Ish Sodhi are the notable inclusions in the T20I side after their recent stint on the sidelines. While Jamieson returns after recovering from a side strain which ruled him out of the ODI series against England, Ish Sodhi comes back after playing Australia in October.
Speaking after the squad announcement, head coach Rob Walter said, "Kyle has been back bowling this week and is tracking nicely for this series . Ish is our most capped T20I player and it's always great to be able to add his skills, energy and experience to the group." Moreover, Nathan Smith has also been named in the side and is likely to make his T20I debut.
