Dayal in Ahmedabad and snatched victory from the hosts. His maximums came against the pacer in the last over, when Kolkata required 28 off just five. His exceptional sixes helped Kolkata pull off the target of 205 on the final ball. Following that scintillating knock, the southpaw became a renowned name among cricket supporters.
Almost after two-and-a-half years of the brilliant knock, Rinku Singh discussed his excellent innings on Raj Shamani’s podcast and said that his life completely changed with that knock for Kolkata. “That moment for me was life-changing. All the hard work I had done in my life, I got the reward in that match. My followers, Instagram followers, started increasing, recognition came, and from there everything changed. Overnight, everything changed. Name, followers, everything was given by the One above that day,” said Rinku.
Rinku Singh failed to get a spot in India’s playing XI against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Asia Cup 2025 game. Discussing his previous competitive game, it came in May 2025, for Kolkata against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Representing the three-time champions in IPL 2025, the left-handed batter smashed 206 runs in 11 innings of 13 matches.
In the continental tournament, if he gets the opportunity in the 11-member squad, his responsibility will be to deliver match-finishing knocks to the team. Since making his T20I debut for India in August 2023, Rinku has played 33 matches in which he amassed 546 runs in 24 innings.
