Moreover, he came twice close to scoring a three figure mark in the longest version of the game as seen in the recent Test series held against Sri Lanka.
For now, Rahul’s attention in what lies ahead rests with the fast approaching Test series in New Zealand where on fast and bouncy pitches, the stoic right hander will be tested by the likes of Matt Fisher, O’ Rourke, Santner and company.
But what’s come as a refreshing bit of development is the sheer regard that a legendary opponent has extended to KL Rahul: and that man is none other than Trent Boult.
He’s been noted to have exclaimed the following about the man from Karnataka:
“Always been a fan of KL. Been a fan of his style. He’s a big player up top the order for India. A classy batter who one is excited to see. So it’ll be exciting to see how the team (Indian side) comes out to play Test cricket in New Zealand.
