At a time where there is absolutely no dearth of talent in the Indian white ball Cricketing circuit, particularly speaking of T20 internationals, it is quite rewarding, to say the least, that we have batters
of the class and calibre of Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan in the side. This is a feel is young generation, one that gets the freedom to express itself and packs an even bigger punch the moment you had a certain Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s name to this growing pack of batters.
Earlier this year, we saw sensational batting performance from the end of Sanju Samson in the T20 World Cup, which India won at home, much to the delight and splendour of millions of fans. He was such a towering contributor to the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup triumph. His knocks like the 97 that came off just 50 helped India beat Windies in a virtual quarter final. Sanju, back then, was in a league of his own.
Then almost a month earlier, we saw the world record being created by Abhishek Sharma, who took just 30 deliveries to score the fastest century in T20 cricket by any batter making a mockery of a side as good as Afghanistan.
Abhishek Sharma, also most recently in the third T20 international held against the West Indies at Indore, struck a magnificent and fiery half century to help India compile yet another 200 plus run total.
🚨 MOST RUNS IN T20I IN 2026:

Abhishek Sharma – 921 runs

And while the explosive left hander has had a splendid all round year, not to forget his exploits in the IPL, there’s someone, in particular, who has been consistently scoring if not in big numbers that 50+ scores at regular intervals, but certainly with the consistency that has helped India prevail in this format. And that is none other than Ishan Kishan, who currently finds himself on the number one spot for T20 bats on the ICC rankings.
As a matter of fact, Kishan is just 82 runs shy of scoring 2000 runs in the T20 international format for India, his current tally being 1918 runs.
But 1122 of his 1918 career runs have come this year from just 32 innings this year and that too, at a strike rate of over 170. What a splendid performance that is, isn’t it?
On the other hand, Abhishek Sharma is 79 runs of scoring 1000 runs in this format of the game in 2026. His current tally is 921 career runs in the briefest format of the game where it comes to international contests.
Truth be told, India is really fortunate to have this destructive pair in its ranks, and the moment you add Vaibhav and Sanju’s name to this list, it becomes an even powerful quartet. This is nothing shy of a fantastic four in the T20 International format for India.
