Pratika Rawal came up with her third ODI hundred as India recorded a lopsided win over Zimbabwe on Friday, October 23. With this win at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara, the Women in Blue gained an early lead,
and have gone 1-0 up in the series. Notably, in what is Smriti Mandhana’s first assignment as India skipper, the Indian Women earlier recorded a 3-0 whitewash over their Caribbean counterparts in the recently-concluded T20I series.
As they took on the field on Friday, the hosts aimed to extend their dominance in the ODI series as well. After choosing to bat first in Vadodara, the visitors got off to a disappointing start and lost their opener Loryn Phiri at one run. Modester Mupachikwa tried to bring the side to stability, but a dominating bowling unit forced her to walk back at 25 runs.
