With two games poised to take place at Christchurch, and then one each at Wellington, Auckland and Hamilton, the upcoming India tour to New Zealand is going to be a hopefully mega series. The T20 contest,
in itself, is an exciting opportunity for any team. This then, involves the two World Cup finalists in the revered ICC World Cup event that took place earlier this year, the series co hosted by India.
So what already makes this fascinating is that not only will India, the most recent World Cup winners in the action packed 2026 World Cup event, are playing New Zealand. But well, the very fact that the hosts, Kiwis are going to be playing at home.

And while they may have seemed humbled and even downplayed by India back then, they are a truly world class force in action when they play at home.
And it’s at home where they’ll unfurl some of their most talented, popular and widely noted talents to face India for the forthcoming 5-match T20I series.
While the team would be captained by Mitch Santner, a world class and perhaps still underrated talent, there are explosive and dominant names in the team such as the likes of Finn Allen, Glenn Phillips and Tim Seifert.
This trinity, in particular, is among the most noted and respected batting force in the briefest format of the game. While they are all agile fielders who seldom shy away from diving at all parts of the ground, where it comes to big hitting and fluent run making, they are at the job.
Furthermore; the series also promises to bring much excitement in the form of Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell and Mark Chapman.
This is a new looking and refreshing New Zealand team in the present day era featuring promising and rising names in the pace bowling department such as Jacob Duffy and Matt Henry.
Of course, what’s going to be a real shame is not having to witness someone like a Rachin Ravindra in there.
