Indian skipper Shubman Gill is currently on an assignment leading the Fazilka Falcons in Sher-E-Punjab T20. On Monday, his team was up against the Amritsar Soormas, led by his teammate of the Indian team Abhishek
Sharma. While the Falcons fell to their Amritsari rivals, skipper Gill enjoyed the last laugh as he avenged his dismissal by catching Sharma out in the game. The Gill-led side batted first and posted 191 runs with the loss of six wickets, owing to a fiery 35-ball 67 by the captain. Not only this, but two other batters, including Pranshu Pratap and Sanvir Singh added 40 runs each to give the side a good finish.
During his knock, Gill smashed a six, four and a six in a single over bowled by Sharma. However, the 26-year-old batter was forced to depart in the same over as Naman Dhir caught him out on the last ball, forcing him to walk back at 67 off 35. Gill, who helped the side secure a narrow one-win run in his league’s debut game, was confident of extending the winning streak. Moreover, the total also gave them some confidence. However, in return, the Soormas, who had secured only one win in the league till then, went all guns blazing to give the chase a favorable start.

Shubman Gill Catches Abhishek Sharma Out; Completing Revenge of his Early Dismissal
Abhishek Sharma, who has been on a roll in the ongoing tournament, went on to put up a fiery 49-run knock in just 15 balls. However, the 26-year-old nearly missed his well-deserving fifty after being caught out by Shubman Gill. On the last ball of the sixth over, Sharma tried to pull off a maximum off a Garv Kumar’s delivery. However, Gill tracked the ball, ran backwards to get the hold of it and forced Sharma to walk back at 49 runs.
Despite brilliant efforts by Gill and Co, the Soormas managed to chase the total seamlessly and ended up recording a four-wicket win with three balls to spare. Apart from Sharma, Sahaj Dhawan contributed 37 runs, while Rahul Kumar remained unbeaten at 53 runs. Akash Pandey finished with 24 runs, while the rest of the batters had to satisfy with single-digit scores. Coming back to Sharma, this wasn’t only his impressive knock in the tournament. The Amritsar-born kicked off the tournament with a 26-ball 72 and followed it up with a 36-ball 82 in the first two games. Unfortunately for the Falcons, the defeat put an end to their two-game winning streak.
