Team India middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer was seen donning the role of magician while promoting a renowned magic bar, where magicians are usually seen showing tricks. The India batter recently grabbed
a lot of headlines after not getting named in India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad. After facing a snub, former Team India players and Shreyas’ supporters backed him and also berated the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for ignoring him. Iyer’s father Santosh Iyer also expressed disappointment at his son not getting picked for the continental tournament.
Amidst these developments. Shreyas was spotted in a bar where he showed some magic tricks with cards and entertained guests at the venue. Taking to his Instagram handle, the 30-year-old wrote, “I became a part of the #B7MagicBarTour! I didn’t plan to...but the magician turned our normal night into such a smooth experience, I had to join in!! Want to see me do more magic? Then follow @b7magicbartour now!”
Shreyas Iyer’s recent outing
ShreyasIyer's last competitive game was for Punjab Kings (PBKS) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final, played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. In the big game, he could score only one run from his bat after consuming two balls. Punjab lost the game by six runs and missed the golden chance of winning the iconic IPL trophy.
The right-handed batter will be next seen in action for the West Zone in the Duleep Trophy, set to be played from August 28 to September 15. West Zone will play the second semi-final from September 4 at BCCI CEG Ground B. Iyer will play under Shardul Thakur, who has superseded Ajnkya Rahane as Mumbai skipper.
