West Indies bowling wizard Keemo Paul brought out a unique celebration after dismissing Abhishek Sharma in the tie-breaker against India. After levelling the series 2-2, West Indies were up against Shreyas
Iyer-led India in the fifth and final game of the T20I series at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, October 17. Considering the batting-dominant series that it had been, fans were hoping for another blockbuster show. However, rain played a spoilsport and the game was reduced to nine overs on each side before being abandoned altogether.
After asking the home side to put the score on the board first, the visitors got off to a favourable start. The Windies bowlers went on to pick wickets right in the opening over and got Abhishek Sharma as their first success. Sharma was batting on six when Shamar Joseph pulled off an easy catch off Paul’s delivery on the second-last ball of the first over and forced the Indian batter to walk off at just one six.
However, what caught everyone’s attention was Paul’s celebration that he did to celebrate the wicket. The Caribbean bowler came up with the ‘L’ celebration, which is also Sharma’s trademark celebration to record the success. Notably, the cricketers caught attention in the penultimate match of the series by engaging in a heated altercation following the game. However, given Sharma’s cheap dismissal, Paul clearly had the last laugh.

Though the game was first reduced to nine overs on each side, it was ultimately called off during the first innings. India were asked to bat first, and the game quickly caught its momentum. Ishan Kishan added 30 runs off 10 balls while skipper Shreyas Iyer came up with 22 runs and Naman Dhir remained unbeaten at 24 off six deliveries as India managed to post 118 runs for five in 7.4 overs.
