With the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 reaching its penultimate stage, in the summit clash, reigning champions Team India, will once again lock horns with Pakistan - third time in the ongoing tournament, on Sunday,
September 28 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. While the match is set to be a cracker of a game with Indian side coming with two wins in as many game against arch-rivals so far in the continental tournament.
But as the two teams set their eyes on the title, former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar grabbed attention for his hilarious slip-up on live television. Speaking after Pakistan qualified for the final of the tournament with a win over Bangladesh, the former pacer mistakenly referred to Abhishek Sharma as Abhishek Bachchan - a popular Bollywood actor.
Speaking on live TV during a cricket talk show Game On Hai, Akhtar remarked, "If Pakistan get Abhishek Bachchan out early in a hypothetical situation, then what is going to happen with the middle order? Their middle order hasn't performed well." While the panel quickly burst out in a laugh, other guests quickly corrected him for the same.

Hours after the incident, Known for his sharp humour and engaging presence on X, the B-town celebrity responded with a light-hearted quip, writing, "Sir, with all due respect, don't think they'll even manage that! And I'm not even good at playing cricket." The response in just a quick time went viral with fans also reacting on Akhtar’s mix-up.
It is to be noted that Shoaib Akhtar has been vocal of Pakistan’s critical performance in the Asia Cup 2025, where they won a total of four games from their six matches so far. While both their defeats came at the hands of India, once in the group stage and the second in the Super Four.
