Indian duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty ended up winning bronze medal at the BWF World Championships 2025. This was their second bronze in the BWF Championships after 2022 as they defeated
Malaysian duo of Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik by 21-12, 21-19 in the third place play-off.
Satwiksairaj and Chiraj ended up losing the men’s doubles semi-finals against China’s Y. Liu & B. Chen by 19-21, 21-18, 12-21, and lost a chance to win a gold or silver. However, the duo kept India’s hopes alive in the ongoing tournament as they clinched a bronze by defeating the two-time Olympic medallists - Chia and Wooi Yik. It also turned out to be a revenge for the Indian duo as these were the same opponents against whom they ended up losing in the quarter-final of the 2024 Paris Olympics and missed a medal.

However, the duo ended up winning the bronze medal after defeating Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik in the third place play-off.
"We didn't get really rhythm. We didn't start of that well. We gave away easy points (in the third game). We should've been a bit smarter. But, credit to them. They served quite well," Chirag said after the semi-final defeat as quoted in India Today. "They played with much more confidence. The body language showed. They were enjoying the outing much more than us. We played well in patches," Satwik said.
