Ravichandran Ashwin has shared his thoughts on Virat Kohli’s pursuit of 100 international centuries, saying that if the former India captain manages to reach the remarkable milestone, he would place him
at the same level as Sachin Tendulkar.
Kohli has already built one of the most impressive batting records in international cricket and has consistently featured among the leading run-scorers across formats. However, reaching 100 international centuries would still require an extraordinary level of consistency over the remaining years of his career.
I will take my hat out: Ashwin

“It is a logical possibility, if Virat Kohli achieves this, then Sachin and Virat Kohli will be on par in terms of greatness.” https://t.co/mnUYB0gT8C

Ashwin acknowledged that while the milestone is logically possible, achieving it in practical terms would be extremely difficult. If Kohli does manage to get there, though, Ashwin believes it would be a feat worthy of the highest recognition.
Ashwin said that if Kohli scores 100 international hundreds, he would “take his hat off” and rate him alongside Tendulkar.
Tendulkar remains the only batter in international cricket to have reached the landmark of 100 centuries. The former India batter achieved the feat during a career that spanned more than two decades and included 51 Test centuries and 49 ODI centuries.
Kohli, meanwhile, has continued to add to his remarkable tally and has already established himself as one of the most prolific century-makers in the history of the game. His record in ODI cricket, in particular, has placed him among the most successful batters the format has produced.
The target is not impossible mathematically, but it would demand sustained performances and a significant number of centuries in the year ahead and in 2027 ODI World Cup.
