Indian bowler Gurnoor Brar displayed extraordinary bowling and fielding skills and pulled off a brilliant one blinder of a catch on his own delivery to send Tom Latham back to the hut. On the last delivery of the 17th over, Latham played a tentative on-drive off a fuller delivery from Brar, only for the ball to chip to the left of Brar. The bowler displayed brilliant reflexes and pulled off a catch with his non-dominating hand, forcing Latham to walk back on three runs.

India dominate New Zealand with ball in first ODI
While Mitchell Santner and Co. aimed to extend their momentum from the last two games, the Indian bowling unit had different plans. Indian bowlers managed to tear into the Kiwi batting lineup and reduced the hosts to 136-8 within 33 overs. Both openers, Will Young and Tim Seifert, departed for nine and 38, respectively. Henry Nicholls and Daryl Mitchell couldn’t perform with the bat as well, and only managed to put up 9 and 28 runs, respectively.
Tom Latham, skipper Mitchell Santner, Nathan Smith and Kyle Jamieson could only contribute in single digits as well. At the time of writing, Glenn Phillips was batting at 29 runs while Jacob Duffy was at four. On the bowling front, Arshdeep Singh had picked three wickets by far, Anshul Kamboj had two successes, while Gurnoor Brar recorded two wickets to his name as well.
