Recently, sources suggested that Hemang Badani is leading the race to join the Chennai-based franchise at the helm of their coaching staff. Not only this, but Indian Express suggested that MS Dhoni is pushing for an Indian-led coaching staff, who should only be committed to this team. However, as per the latest reports from Cricbuzz, Dhoni, who is currently enjoying personal time in the United States will be back in India on September 22 and will meet the CSK management to decide on the next coach as well as a few potential trades.

While the earlier reports suggested that the five-time team was looking for an Indian to take charges of the role, the latest reports by Cricbuzz suggests otherwise. According to them, the team have zeroed in on an overseas candidate for the role, and he is also in talks with another franchise. According to other media reports, Eoin Morgan has emerged as the frontrunner for the role of Fleming’s successor. As per Rohit Juglan’s recent reports, Morgan asked for INR 20 crore for the position of the head coach. While the conversations between the two parties have been fruitful, the team management is reportedly not entertaining the price asked.
Moreover, Fleming allegedly used to earn around INR 4.5 Crore to INR 7.5 crore per season while batting coach Michael Hussey would get INR 1.5 to INR 3 crore per season. Not only this, but sources suggest that bowling coaches, assistant coaches and fielding coaches, all combined would get less than what Morgan alone is demanding, which is a concern for the Kasi Viswanathan-owned franchise.
