The 19th edition of the Big Boss has started and several famous personalities have participated in the show this year. Bigg Boss is an Indian adaptation of the famous Dutch series named Big Brother. Started
in India in 2006, Big Boss is a reality show where the contestants live in a house for a few months with total cut off from the outside world. Over the years, Big Boss went on to become one of the most popular reality shows in India and several famous personalities from different fields have participated in the show.
There are also some renowned names from the sports fields who have participated in the Big Boss and showed their real side to the fans apart from their on-field heroics. From cricket to wrestling and boxing, sports personalities have been a part of the Big Boss show over the years.

1. Salil Ankola
Former Indian cricketer Salil Ankola was the first sportsperson to participate in the Big Boss. He was a part of the inaugural season in 2006. Salil has played one Test and 20 ODIs for India from 1989 to 1997. He was also a part of the Indian squad for the 1996 Cricket World Cup. Salil took part in Big Boss in 2006 but had to leave mid-season due to his contractual obligations with Balaji Telefil, who were the official broadcasters of the show that year.
2. Vinod Kambli
Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambliappeared in the third season of the Big Boss in 2009 as a wild-card contestant. Having played 17 Tests and 104 ODIs for India from 1991 to 2000, Kambli’s short stint in Big Boss house was filled with controversies and emotional moments. The fans also got to see Kambli’s vulnerable side sparking debate about mental health in sports.
3. Sangram Singh
Indian wrestler and MMA fighter Sangram Singh appeared in the seventh season of Bigg Boss in 2013. He was one of the finalists in that season and left a positive impression with no big fights or controversies throughout his stint in that season.
4. Navjot Singh Sidhu
Former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was one of the most lovable characters to enter the Big Boss. Having played 51 Tests and 136 ODIs from 1983 to 1999, Sidhu participated in the sixth of the Big Boss in 2012. However, he had to leave the show mid-season due to political commitments. In his short stint, Sidhu won hearts of the fans as well as his fellow contestants with his witty poetries and one liners.
5. The Great Khali
One of the popular personalities to enter the Bigg Boss house was Dalip Singh Rana aka The Great Khali. He entered the house in the fourth season of the Bigg Boss in 2010. Khali finished as the runner-up in that season losing against Shweta Tiwari in top-two.
6. Andrew Symonds
Late Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds entered the house in the fifth season of Big Boss in 2011. He was a wild card contestant that year and shared several lighthearted moments with the fellow contestants during his short stay in the house.
7. S Sreesanth
Former India cricketer S Sreesanth is the last sports personality to enter a Bigg Boss. He was a part of the 12th season of the show in 2018 and ended as the runner-up after losing to Dipika Kakar in the top-two. Sreesanth’s journey was filled with highs and lows and lots of support from the audience.
