It really hasn’t been Australia’s year thus far. They performed quite poorly and below expectations in the T20 World Cup, which was held in the beating of subcontinent in Asia earlier. And besides a few
winds here and there they have been found wanting a great example of which was seen most recently when they lost the test series held in South Africa by margin of 2-1. To be defeated as one thing, but the manner Nirav defeat that Australia sustained or inflicted upon the talking point, and not a great one at that either.
Under Temba Bavuma’s inspirational leadership as opposed to Pat Cummins’s rather mediocre performance as captain and player, Australia endured a harrowing loss and what they now need is to quickly discover form so that ‘rise and shine’ is something which is not a hopeful statement attributed to them, but something that they can achieve for real.
This brings us to the subject of the next contest! After receiving a flat from senior players or past grades, such as Matt Hayden, David Warner among the others, Australia, clearly under pressure, will lock horns with England for a white ball series.

Interestingly, England too, have been found wanting as far as their most recent tri series performance was concerned- which Pakistan aced winning the final game.
But it’s time for the Ashes rivalry in white ball cricket to take centre stage and here’s what you ought to know.
It was being said that the new or forthcoming series would see the Aussies with a few changes that were necessary. And so it’s happened:
AUSTRALIA ODI & T20I SQUAD vs ENGLAND
ODI: Marsh (c), Bartlett, Beardman, Carey, Connolly, Jack Edwards, Green, Head, Inglis, Spencer, Ollie Peake, Renshaw, Liam Scott, Zampa.
T20I: Marsh (c), Bartlett, Beardman, Nikhil Chaudhary, Tim David, Joel Davies, Jack Edwards, Ellis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Harper, Spencer, Owen, Lachlan Shaw, Zampa
They are, usually speaking, a beacon of excellence. The forthcoming series will hopefully see Australia playing like one and returning to form but then anything can and may happen. It’s cricket, after all.
