Virat Kohli fails to make a mark in second ODI
After displaying sublime form in the opening ODI with a 51-ball 74, Virat Kohli failed to put up much with the bat in the second game. As India chased 135 in a rain-hit game that reduced action to 47 overs on each side, the 38-year-old put up seven runs off seven deliveries with the help of one boundary. However, that doesn’t raise question to his form as he has been delivering excellently in 2026. Before Saturday’s ODI, Kohli scored 626 runs in 11 games at an average of 69.55 with two hundreds and four half-centuries.
Talking about the Indian team, the Men in Blue put up a brilliant performance with the ball in the first innings and restricted the rivals at a sub-par total of 134. However, in return, they couldn’t extend their momentum with the bat and kept losing wickets at regular interval. Skipper Shubman Gill was dismissed on a golden duck while Rohit Sharma hit 23 runs off 28 deliveries.
