As the New Zealand T20I series begins, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav became the fourth Indian cricketer to complete 100 appearances in T20Is during the first match against New Zealand in Nagpur. Rohit
Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya are the other Indians to complete this milestone. Rohit holds the record for most T20I matches for India with 159 matches.
Suryakumar Yadav has scored 2788 runs in 99 T20I matches at an average of 35. He has four hundreds to his name which is the second most. Rohit Sharma has most tons for India. This is a very big milestone for Suryakumar Yadav as this is his 100th game and he is leading India. He also went past 9000 T20 runs and looked in good touch.
The last few years has been tough for Suryakumar Yadav as he has scored 748 runs since taking over as captain, scoring at an average of just 23.37. The last year was even more tougher as he averaged less than 20 with a strike rate of less than 2025.

India will be playing the T20 WC at home and are the defending champions in this format. Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav India will play the upcoming tournament and this series against New Zealand will be a good preparation for the side and Indian captain Suryakumar will hope that his 100th match for India will be a good one.
