Sarfaraz Khan sent a strong message to the BCCI selectors with his knock on the first day of Buchi Babu 2025 tournament. Playing for Maharashtra Cricket Association, Sarfaraz went on to score 138 runs
off 114 balls before getting retired hurt. The right-hander completed his ton in just 92 balls making headlines on day one of the Buchi Babu 2025.
Notably, Sarfaraz Khan hasn't been seen playing for India in the last few months. Making his Test debut at the starting of 2024, Sarfaraz was last seen playing against New Zealand in Mumbai in November 2024. He was also picked for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy down under last year but didn’t get to play a single match in that series. After that, Sarfaraz was ruled out of the Indian squad for the recently ended tour to England.

Sarfaraz Khan came to bat when Mumbai lost three wickets at the score of 98 runs on the first day of the Buchi Babu 2025. He put up a partnership of 72 runs along with Suved Parkar for the fourth wicket followed by a century stand with Akash Parkar before the fall of the sixth wicket. With this knock, Sarfaraz sent a strong message to Team India selectors after getting snubbed from the England series.
So far, Sarfaraz Khan has played six Test matches for India so far amassing 371 runs at an average of 37.10 with one hundred and three half-centuries. Sarfaraz recently earned the limelight after he lost 17 kgs showing his dedication to make a return in the Indian team. Now, as India are scheduled to play two Test matches against West Indies at home, the fans will be hoping to see Sarfaraz back in action in that series.
