The IPL auction has consistently provided an opportunity for uncapped Indian cricketers to make a name for themselves. With franchises constantly looking for emerging Indian talent, domestic performances
can play a crucial role in determining a player’s auction value. As teams look to strengthen their squads ahead of IPL 2027, a few lesser-known names could attract considerable attention.
Domestic players who could attract big bids in IPL 2027 auction
Ashwin Hebbar and Rohit Sen are two players worth keeping an eye on, particularly because of their batting potential and recent performances. Here is a closer look at the three domestic prospects who could generate interest at the IPL 2027 auction.
Ashwin Hebbar – Andhra Pradesh
Ashwin Hebbar is an experienced domestic cricketer who could be an interesting name for IPL franchises looking to add depth to their Indian batting department. Ashwin is one of the most consistent players who can be a good signing for the franchises as they look to get rid of their middle order domestic batter problem.
The batter can bat top of the order and in the middle order as well, providing his team the stability it needs. Interestingly, the batter has proved his worth in the white ball circuit over the years with three back-to-back orange caps in Andhra Premier League. Ashwin has been the leading run scorer in the past three editions which makes his case even stronger.
The Andhra batter has built a considerable record across domestic formats. In List A cricket, he has scored 2,019 runs in 58 matches at an average of 38.82, including six centuries and eight half-centuries. His highest score of 154 highlights his ability to convert starts into substantial contributions.
His T20 numbers are also worth considering. Hebbar has accumulated 1,803 runs in 69 matches at an average of 30.05 and a strike rate of 131.60. He also has a T20 century to his name.
Having previously been associated with Delhi Capitals, Hebbar has already had exposure to an IPL environment. His experience, ability to bat in the top order and occasional medium-pace bowling could make him an interesting option for franchises searching for domestic batting depth.
A strong showing in the upcoming domestic T20 season could further improve his chances of attracting attention at the IPL 2027 auction.
Rohit Sen – Assam

Rohit Sen could be one of the exciting emerging names to watch ahead of the IPL 2027 auction. The aggressive opening batter has made a strong impression with his performances in the Assam Premier League, showcasing the kind of attacking approach that T20 franchises increasingly value.
His 2026 Assam T20 campaign was particularly impressive. Representing Guwahati Royals, Sen finished with 543 runs in 12 innings at an average of 45.25 and an outstanding strike rate of 189.86. He registered five half-centuries, with a highest score of 96.
What makes these numbers particularly interesting is his ability to maintain an aggressive scoring rate while also contributing consistently. His tally included 48 fours and 39 sixes, demonstrating his ability to find boundaries regularly.
Sen’s performances suggest that he could be an attractive option for franchises looking for an attacking Indian opener who can make an impact during the powerplay.
While performing consistently in a regional T20 competition is different from succeeding in the IPL, his numbers certainly make him a player worth monitoring. Another productive domestic season could put him firmly on the radar of IPL scouts.
Abhirath Reddy – Hyderabad
Abhirath Reddy could be one of the most exciting domestic prospects to watch ahead of the IPL 2027 auction. The Hyderabad batter enjoyed a sensational campaign in the inaugural TG20 2026 tournament, finishing as the competition’s highest run-scorer and playing a crucial role in helping Hyderabad E-Champions lift the title.
Reddy accumulated 549 runs in 10 matches at an average of 61.00 and an impressive strike rate of 201.84. His campaign included four half-centuries and a century, with a highest score of 101. He also smashed 58 boundaries and 33 sixes, highlighting his attacking approach and ability to dominate bowling attacks.
His performances earned him the Orange Cap as well as the Player of the Tournament award. He was also recognised for his contribution to the team’s title-winning campaign.
