Despite several rumours regarding his future in the Indian Cricket team, Rohit Sharma is set to return in action ahead of the ODI series against Australia starting on October 19 down under. The fans are
eagerly waiting for the ODI series to see Rohit and Virat Kohli back in action as both the players have already retired from the T20Is and Tests. However, there are also several reports coming that the BCCI are not considering both of them for the 2027 ODI World Cup and they might announce their retirement from the 50-over format soon.
However, ahead of the ODI series against Australia, Rohit Sharma can be seen in action again. As reported by RevSportz, Rohit can be seen playing for India A in the unofficial ODI series against Australia which is scheduled to take place ahead of the three-match ODI series between Australia and India.
Rohit Sharma gearing up to get back in action
Rohit Sharma was last in action in the IPL 2025 clash between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings on June 1. However, his last outing for India came in the Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand in Dubai on March 9. He announced his Test retirement ahead of India’s tour to England but still is an active player in the ODI format.
As India’s next ODI assignment is in October, there has been a long gap for Rohit Sharma to get back in action for the Men in Blue. However, the star opening batter was recently training hard along with former India’s Assistant Coach Abhishek Nayar showing his dedication to make a comeback in the Indian team.
