A scary moment involving Rohit Sharma has gone viral after India’s emphatic victory in the first ODI against West Indies. On the night of September 27, as the Indian team returned to their hotel in Thiruvananthapuram
following the match at the Greenfield International Stadium, Rohit lost his footing while stepping down the stairs of the team bus.
In the circulating video, the veteran opener can be seen looking ahead rather than down at the steps. He slips, loses balance, and briefly ends up near the bus entrance. Support staff and police personnel nearby immediately rushed forward to help him back to his feet. The former Indian captain got up quickly and appeared fine, with no official reports of any injury from the BCCI or the player himself.

Virat Kohli, who was in the surrounding area, turned around and looked concerned as the incident unfolded.
Fans on social media quickly highlighted Kohli’s stunned reaction, contrasting it with the celebratory mood after the win. The clip went viral on social media and drew concern and light-hearted comments from cricket fans. Fortunately it looked like a scare rather than an injury.
Rohit had contributed 32 off 35 balls including two fours and three sixes at the top of the order earlier in the day, helping set the platform before Shubman Gill and Kohli took over as India cruised to a victory.
India seal dominant eight-wicket win against West Indies
India began their three-match ODI series against West Indies with a comprehensive eight-wicket victory in Thiruvananthapuram. West Indies posted 295/7, on the back of a maiden ODI century by Justin Greaves and contributions from John Campbell (62) and Amir Jangoo (58 not out).
Kuldeep Yadav was the star with the ball on his ODI comeback, claiming 4/40 to restrict the visitors. In reply, India chased down the target of 296 in just 41.4 overs. Rohit provided a brisk start before falling for 32. Captain Shubman Gill scored a composed 110, and Virat Kohli produced a brilliant unbeaten 139 (88 balls, 10 fours, 9 sixes) as the pair added a massive partnership.
Ruturaj Gaikwad remained not out on 13 as India sealed the win with 50 balls to spare. Kuldeep was named Player of the Match. With the series lead at 1-0, India will now shift focus to the second ODI, which will be played on Wednesday, September 30, at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
The third and final ODI will be played on October 3 in New Chandigarh (Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur). Fans will hope Rohit and the rest of the squad remain fully fit as India look to seal the series against West Indies.
