TeamIndia’s ODI captain Rohit Sharma was spotted with Ayush Mhatre and Sarfaraz Khan on September 16. The veteran is highly expected to lead India’s 50-over team against Australia in the upcoming series
to be played Down Under from October 19 to 25. Rohit hasn’t been seen in India colours since March. His last international assignment was the Champions Trophy 2025 which was held in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Rohit guided India to the second title win in the ICC tournament which was held after eight years. Following the scintillating Champions Trophy 2025, he was seen in action for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
In viral images doing rounds on social media, Rohit Sharma can be seen imparting batting tips to both Mumbai batters. Mhatre also posted a story on Instagram and wrote, "Not just a gift, but an inspiration. Thanks @rohitsharma45 Da." Rohit played his last competitive game in June, with his appearance for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Notching up 418 runs in five matches, he ended up as the second-leading run-getter for MI in the tournament.

As India’s next ODI assignment is in Australia, Rohit will be expected to have a blast with his bat in the series to be played Down Under. In Australia, the 38-year-old has played 30 matches, in which he racked up 1328 runs with five hundreds and four half-centuries, at an average of 53.12.
This year, Rohit has scored 302 runs in eight matches at a strike rate of 108.24. Team India fans will expect him to lead the Men in Blue from the front and help them win their third 50-over series Down Under. In the past, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are the only captains to win ODI series in Australia.
