Kagiso Rabada reached another remarkable milestone in his illustrious international career as the South African fast bowler completed 350 wickets in Test cricket during the ongoing third Test against Australia
at Newlands in Cape Town.
The landmark moment came on Day 5 of the decisive Test when Rabada dismissed Australia’s explosive batter Travis Head, who was caught by Marco Jansen in the field. Head departed after scoring 14 runs, giving Rabada his third wicket of Australia’s second innings and taking his Test wicket tally to 350.
The dismissal also triggered celebrations among the South African players, with Jansen and the rest of the team sharing the excitement of the moment with their star fast bowler. The footage of Rabada’s milestone wicket and the celebrations quickly caught the attention of cricket fans on social media.
Rabada had already made a significant impact earlier in Australia’s run chase, striking twice in the opening over to remove Matt Renshaw and Marnus Labuschagne. He first dismissed Renshaw before trapping Labuschagne leg-before-wicket, putting Australia under immediate pressure in their pursuit of a 288-run target.
The dismissal of Head further strengthened South Africa’s position and highlighted Rabada’s ability to deliver when his team needs him the most.
